What you need to know about masking orders in Washington State

On July 7th, a statewide order went into effect requiring that masks be worn inside any public business and outside where six feet of distancing cannot be safely maintained. Business owners are not allowed to provide goods or services to customers in violation of the order.  There are some exemptions to the rules and those can be found here.

In addition, masks are required at most Washington workplaces. Employers are required to provide the face coverings/PPE appropriate for the job at no cost to the employee. Again, exceptions do exist for those working on their own and for people with communication or medical issues.

Finally, employers are required to alert their local health department if COVID-19 cases appear to be spreading in the workplace.

Here is a handy link of best practices for business owners from the Governor’s office. We hope this information is helpful to you!pe this information is helpful to you!
